Hello, Mr. Robinson. Goodbye, Mr. Robinson
The Notre Dame faithful wailed, "coulda, woulda, shoulda."
Simply stated, however: The Fighting Irish had to stop one Wolverine. They didn't, and Denard Robinson and his Michigan team won the game.
No rehash or stats count necessary.
Instant Interview with successful high school coach.
The Irish Brogue: Why didn't ND contain Robinson consistently?
Virginia HS Coach: They never plugged the middle, never sealed it at the line and beyond. Game over!
Brogue: Would you have called pass over field goal to end first half?
Coach: Neither. Montana did not have clutch experience or skill. Give the ball to Armando.
Brogue: What do you think of the Irish after two games?
Coach: I think they are a good football team that will get better at all positions and excution.
Brogue: Michigan State is up next.
Coach: Shut down their passing attack, and elevate NDs, especially long to Floyd and Jones. Game Over!
Instant Editorial:
We can hope, indeed, be assurred that in the future, Messrs. Crist and Montana 'will not look for fan favor' by trying to loft the ball into the stands instead of into the hands of a receiver in the end zone.
