A Tree Grows Tall In Palo Alto

With a nickname, The Cardinal, and a logo, The Tree, Stanford has no business being at the top tier of the BCS leader board.

However, their record, strong passing attack, running game, solid offensive line and hard-nose defense negates the notion that they don't belong. They do, and God bless Notre Dame this Saturday evening.

Now, what do the lads from South Bend have to offer the hosts from Palo Alto, California?

--A severely wounded running attack.

--A not-mobile quarterback, who is prone to mistakes.

--Receivers who will be covered by 8-9 defenders.

--A defense that does not handle the passing game very well (talk to Matt Barkley).

--Kickers who always give position advantage to returners.

--A coach who has become very conservative in play-calling.
