Broguesters, you can't be serious that Weis is up for the challenge that Nevada will give his on-field coaching. Look, The Ego Landed a few years ago and he hasn't gotten off the ground yet. College coaching is not his niche--certainly the head spot. I do like the talent and speed on this team,
but unsure of the frontline defense. I'll give this one to ND, however--31 to 27.

ND will win but still will not answer a lot of questions. You are correct to say this a damn good Nevada team, as they are and will prove it. I hope that not only will the Irish win but I hope they show some toughness. That is what I will be looking for. Be tough Irish!

The South Bend billboard has it right that Weis is still in his fifth year of coaching internship.
ND will win the game...in a struggle, not because of Charlie, but in spite of him.

I do remember the scandal surrounding the Nevada team in the late 40s or early 50s. They had a great passer who wasn't a student.
This time around they have a great student-passer, great running backs, and a great innovative coach. But that's not enough to beat this ND team.

I, too, wish Charlie Weis the best in this his fifth intern season as ND Coach. I donot however believe he has the right stuff to mold and lead this very talented team. I am surprised that you do. ND will eke out a win by a small margin...and I bet it won't be an easy victory.

ND does not have the wherewithall this first game and against this team to stop the pistol offense, but the Irish have a stronger arsenal of offensive weapons. ND should put up 40+ points and Nevada in the low 30s. Go Irish!

I'll give you this: We need to be optimistic going into this season and this first game. I think it will be close and ND won't stop Kaepernick and those talented backs, but squeeze out a vuctory
that may not be as impressive as you think and I would like.
